General Questions
We will only work with clients who are beyond their third trimester. If you have any doubts, please ask your doctor. All of our practitioners are trained in pre/postnatal protocols, so will modify to safely accommodate your changing body. We suggest waiting at least 6 weeks to come back for a Stretch*ssage postpartum... and as long as you get the A-ok from your doctor!
Stretch*ssage is a unique combo of assisted stretching and massage techniques, designed to offer deep relaxation and relief. Drawing from Swedish, deep tissue, Thai and other modalities, the massage helps prep and relax the muscles to maximize your stretch. If you want a more luxurious experience, opt for the Stretch*ssage.
Wear comfortable clothes that you would wear to a stretch session. You want to ensure you can move easily (leggings, sweatpants and joggers), so we do not recommend jeans. We also sell rental clothing. Please wear socks to your appointment!
Stretch*ssage is offered in all 3 of our locations: Flatiron (27 West 20th Street), Upper East Side (1357 Third Ave), and Rye Brook (13 Rye Ridge Plaza).
Only licensed massage therapists who are trained in both the Stretch*d Method and Stretch*ssage protocols provide Stretch*ssage.
Yes, we offer memberships on a month-to-month basis, that auto renew each month. To cancel, you must do so seven days before your next membership cycle begins. To purchase, see our Services page.
We accept select FSA & HSA reimbursements on single stretch*s, 5-packs of stretch*s and Memberships. We recommend that you consult your FSA administrator for approval before submitting for reimbursement. Tips, retail purchases and non-stretching services are not generally eligible for reimbursement.
While we don’t expect you to do the splits after one session, we do believe that stretching is good for every body - even the “flexibly challenged.” Our Stretcher*s work with each individual to customize a stretch for your starting point and goals.
Getting Stretch*d can be the key to working out the tight spots when your mobility is limited. We advise you to ask your doctor if you have specific concerns, but otherwise, we’ll see you (and your bun in the oven) in the Stretch*d space!
If you have an injury, we advise you to consult a medical professional to get their seal of approval on an activity like stretching. Once cleared…see you in the Stretch*d space.
All Stretch*rs have bodywork expertise and are certified in our proprietary Stretch*d Method. They come from a variety of backgrounds, including personal training, massage therapy, yoga instruction and professional dance. They are then trained by our meticulous Chief Stretch*rs.
Pretty much every body! Whether you’re sedentary or always on the move. A marathoner or a power walker. 18 or 80. That said, if you have an injury that you are concerned about, please consult a doctor before getting Stretch*d.
If you have an injury, we advise you to consult a medical professional to get their seal of approval on an activity like stretching. Once cleared…see you in the Stretch*d space.
Face*ssage
It's a 20-minute session under the Lightstim, an anti-aging LED light that uses red light therapy to reduce fine lines and wrinkles. It is FDA cleared for wrinkle reduction and collagen production. There's no down time and you will immediately see a healthy glow afterwards. The best results are with frequent use. We recommend 6 visits within 2 weeks and sell a 6-pack. We recommend a Get Lit session immediately after Face*ssage to help seal in the benefit and reduce any inflammation. Single sessions are $20; 6-packs are $100.
We use products with all only safe, clean and natural ingredients, free from parabens, preservatives and synthetic fragrances. Choose from oils specifically for Anti Aging, Hydration, Sensitive and Acne Prone skin types. Using facial oil is optional.
If you are breakout prone, we suggest you use the facial oil for acne prone skin. If you have sensitive skin, we suggest you test a small amount of the oils on your inner wrist first.
We also provide the option to use a relaxing magnesium cream on your neck and shoulders.
If you have had recent fillers, injections, Botox, chemical peels or skin procedures such as microneedling, microblading, dermaplaning, laser resurfacing, or laser hair removal within 2 weeks prior to your appointment, we recommend rebooking. This also goes for anyone who has had recent dental procedures that may cause jaw or facial sensitivity.
Come as frequently as you'd like! There's no down time. We recommend at least once a month for regular maintenance and sell 5-pack options, as well. You can pair this before or after a Stretch.
Many of our clients find that a Face*ssage helps reduce tension headaches, jaw tension (think: teeth grinding), TMJ and other common areas of tightness. The neck and shoulder massages can also alleviate some of this pain.
A loose fitting t-shirt or tank top is best so that we can massage deep into the upper back and shoulder area. Try to avoid wearing a tight fitting sports bra. If you forget the right top, you can rent a t-shirt from us for $5. We have changing rooms and lockers.
We recommend coming in bare faced. We have makeup wipes if you'd like to remove your makeup when you arrive. We ask that you arrive a few minutes before your session to prep and make the most of your time.
It's a face massage! Unlike a traditional facial, this service is completely non-invasive. We won't clean your face or do extractions. We will use facial techniques to massage your acupressure points to reduce facial or jaw tension. It's a lymphatic drainage massage that will reduce puffiness, sculpt, tone, lift and contour. It's also ridiculously relaxing. We get into the neck, shoulders and upper back. Don't be surprised if you fall asleep!

Academy
This course is not only designed to enhance your current wellness offerings but will also allow you to offer a completely new service to your clientele. We’ll also discuss best practices related to the business and marketing of stretching as the courses progress
The course content should take anywhere from 2-4 hours to complete with additional time for hands-on practice of the technique. Taking your time to complete the course and allotting time for practice is recommended.
You do not need to have knowledge of stretching or anatomy before enrolling but it can be very helpful in understanding the Stretch*d method and becoming proficient in the technique.  We do have an anatomy section in the course to give an overview of basic musculature and physiology.
Level 1 covers the 15 essential moves of the Stretch*d Method and will provide a comprehensive foundation of the Method.  Some modules can be completed standalone, while others require completion of Level 1 as a prerequisite and will build upon the 15 essentials Stretch*s.
There is no mandatory professional experience required but we recommend this course for those with a background in professions like massage therapy, personal training, physical therapy, yoga or pilates as it adds it to their professional skill set.
About the space
We have changing areas, but no showers. Since WE stretch YOU out, you won’t be working up a sweat.
We recommend arriving 5 minutes prior to your appointment to check in and change (if need be). All sessions start and end on time. We run a tight schedule, so If you arrive late, your session will get shortened...and no one wants that. If it’s your first Stretch*d session, please arrive at least 10 minutes early to fill out paperwork, get an intro and speak with your Stretch*r about specific goals.
About your session
We are big proponents of all of those forms of self-care, but one-on-one dynamic stretch is unique in that it provides one-on-one dedicated time to elongate your muscles and improve flexibility.
Socks are required for all stretches, as well as clothing that allows us to stretch you out. Gym shorts, tights, sweats and t-shirts all stretch. Dresses, skirts, suits and jeans do not. If you don’t bring appropriate clothing, we have all items available to rent for a fee (t-shirt, sweats and socks for $3; socks only for $2).
Hell, no! Our stretches feel soooo good! Your Stretch*r will gently ease you into each stretch and will consistently check in with you to make sure you are comfortable.
Both have their benefits! A pre-workout stretch warms up your muscles, can reduce risk of injury and boost your performance. A post-workout stretch speeds recovery by flushing out metabolic waste, increasing blood flow and lengthening muscles that have just been contracted. It’s also super relaxing.
Here’s the gist...We ask about your goals, areas you want to focus on and then we get to it. Depending on the stretch type (and time) you choose, you’ll get a deep, but heavenly hands-on stretch like you’ve never had before. Expect your Stretch*r to stay in communication with you throughout your session to make sure you are comfortable and pain-free, but not to talk your ear off...unless that’s your kinda thing.
Nope! The Stretch*d Method is an active, dynamic stretch which provides increased blood flow to the muscles, so no warm up necessary. Bonus: We do have a stretch area with foam rollers, a stall bar and other stretch aids to compliment your session for pre- or post-stretch use.
That depends on your schedule and your goals. Whether you can sneak us in between appointments or dedicate an hour to self-care…Stretch*d will be the highlight of your day. Tight on time? A 25-minute (Quick*e) session will offer you a comprehensive full-body stretch in no time. In a 55-minute (Flex*d) session, no muscle will go unstretched, with plenty of time to spend on problem areas. And in a 70-minute (E*longated) session, you will get extra time to focus on those extra tight spots (and to really relax). PLUS… we take walk-ins!
